Get involved
We receive donations of second hand clothing and other items for new mothers, babies and toddlers that need to be sorted and packed into our Mother and Baby packs.
We love for people to come along and see first hand what we do here in Melbourne. You can drop off donations and help sort and pack our valuable containers.
To ensure all the money raised is used to fund our project sin Papua New Guinea, we are asking our supporters to become financial members.
Your financial contribution will help us cover our administrative costs.
We accept donations for our Mother and Baby Pack project, Health Worker Kit Project and other medical equipment. We also accept donations of tea cups and saucers, tea pots and three tiered cake stand for our high tea fundraiser.
A member of our committee would love to come and talk with your group to share more about what, we do.
You could hold your own fundraising event or donation drive.
Our Projects
There are many challenges to obtaining health care in PNG. The rugged terrain causes difficulty with communication and distribution of medical supplies between villages. The many rural villages scattered throughout the countryside and a low commitment to healthcare contributes to the high mortality and morbidity rates in PNG.
The maternal and infant death rates are amongst the highest in the world. This is due to inadequate prenatal and postnatal care and inadequate birthing facilities; especially in many of the remote villages where health facilities are sparse.
As tribal conflicts unfold across the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, safe access to health care is increasingly under threat. In conflict-affected parts of the country, such as Hela and Southern Highlands Provinces, community health-care clinics lay in ruins, and the staff have fled for their lives.
An intrepid team of Australian healthcare workers has touched down in Papua New Guinea, where they are working in the field to help stay on top of the global coronavirus crisis.
Papua New Guinea has so far recorded just 11 confirmed cases and zero deaths, but the country is not without its challenges as it works to stop the infection spreading.
Reflecting on 25 years of research into health service delivery and the health status of women and children in Papua New Guinea, it is distressing to observe the current catastrophic failures and continued decline in services for women and children.
Another year of Covid Challenges didn’t stop us from sending the long-awaited container to Kompian Rural Hospital.

A trip to PNG and a Pandemic . . . another successful year.
A new location for our packing and sorting, a new container destination and more Health Worker kits make it to PNG.
